Agency Update

NU-HOPE holds its 26th Annual NU-HOPE Golf Tournament!

Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Pinecrest Golf Club in Avon Park

Did you know that NU-HOPE Elder Care Services has to raise over $350,000 every year- in addition to the State and Federal Grants it receives, in order to provide all of its services to local seniors? It’s a difficult challenge, but thanks to the support of our local community, we are able to accomplish this task.

The Annual NU-HOPE Golf Tournament is one important way that these funds are raised. This is our signature fundraiser, and it rallies a variety of groups and individuals together in order to create a fantastic day of fun and competition, all in the name of a heartfelt and important mission: allowing seniors to continue to age in their own homes and communities as long as possible, delaying or preventing nursing home placement.

Businesses, organizations, and individuals join in the effort by being sponsors, players and donors for our raffle. Each are important to making the day a success! This year, the event is being held at Pinecrest Golf Club in Avon Park on Saturday, April 13th (2024). The event is a 4-person scramble with a shotgun start at 8 am.

The Lunch Break Treasure Hunt is back- but with a FUN TWIST! We are telling a story with the items shown here- and YOU have to finish the story line in the comments. Pick up where the last person who commented left off, incorporating the items in the Treasure Hunt in your addition to the story. Once all items are used, go WILD! Everyone who adds to the storyline and shares this post is entered into the monthly drawing, and we are drawing soon! SOOO- Here's the start of the story--- Irene rushes home from work, exhausted. She is grateful that she lives alone, as she could not face the chaos of a family with the headache she has today. But still, she wonders if her life of a predictable, boring routine is all there is. She grabs a bottle of water from the fridge then sits down at her desk (item #5) to pay bills, but notices an envelop tucked under the phone. In it is a voucher for a plane ticket, a hotel brochure, and a simple note: 'Take a chance on life..' Normally, a note from a stranger would have been tossed into the fire place and burned. But something intrigues Irene. She looks around her house... What did she really have to loose? She takes an old duffle bag out of her closet, tosses in a few changes of clothes, pulls out her passport, grabs her keys, and headsd out the door... (It's your turn guys... Move the story forward!) ... See MoreSee Less
